DeTrafford is owned and driven by property developer, Gary Jackson.
His property development career originally began in 1984, when Gary purchased and refurbished his first property.
As a young entrepreneur, he managed to purchase the property with funds raised from running his own door-to-door potato round, along with additional bank funding. Unbeknown to him at the time, Gary’s original development, Kane Gardens, six apartments in a Victorian house, was the starting point of the DeTrafford Estates Group.
Following this initial development, Gary’s passion for property development began to grow.
Since this project, Gary has successfully developed over 800 properties including land, factories, industrial mills, houses and luxury apartments.
Having faced challenging learning curves along the way, no more so than the 1991 market crash that dramatically impacted the property market, Gary then altered how he financed his investments, and, for the period through to 2006, he did not rely on banks or other third party funding.
After the market crash, Gary subsequently rebuilt and grew the business. With this new attitude and approach to business, the company went from strength to strength. The culmination of this growth came at the peak of the property market in 2007 when, at this stage, the extensive property portfolio had been traded for gross sales of £85m.
The culmination that led to DeTrafford
With cash in the bank, Gary used this opportunity to monitor the property market and waited for the right development opportunity to present itself.
This came in 2008 when Gary founded DeTrafford Estates Group, to fill the market void of pioneering concepts for functional and flexible living.
Since then, DeTrafford’s portfolio has continued to grow as we explore exciting new opportunities in the UK and internationally, ensuring our core philosophies are carried through all of our projects.
